Strating Pianos was established in 2018. Alistair Strating is a 2nd generation piano tuner, following in the footsteps of his father Bert Strating. With a deep respect for the timeless traditions of piano tuning and restoration, Strating Pianos offers professional, prompt, and affordable services for all types of pianos – from the latest models to cherished vintage instruments. Alistair Strating has tuned for many international artists and travels statewide to prepare Steinway concert grand pianos for the Tasmanian Sympony Orchestra and Musica Viva Australia. Our concert work recently has extended to artists such as Tim Minchin and Missy Higgins.  

Alistair is not just a skilled piano tuner, but also a talented musician who can play both the piano and the French horn. His musical journey has taken him to various national and international stages, including performances with the Azimus band, Musical Theatre pit orchestras, the Sambeek Wind Symphony in the Netherlands, and the University of Tasmania Wind Orchestra.
